Situated on Bophut beach in the north-east of the island, the Peace Resort is a newly refurbished, friendly bungalow style resort, ideal for a relaxing family getaway. The style is best described as contemporary Thai with the architecture following local traditions, but a transformation in 2007 has given a more up-scale look and feel while the prices have remained very reasonable. The resort is well laid out in small buildings, ensuring a more intimate, human scale, while the grounds are tranquil and green, with a restaurant that spills out onto the beach.
The rooms and villas are beautifully decorated in crisp, bright and cutting-edge design; dark wood furniture, white sheets and dashes of colour add a note of refinement. The inviting turquoise swimming pool with an integrated jacuzzi is the best place to start on your quest for total relaxation. There is also a smaller dedicated pool for children. If youve worked up an appetite, you can enjoy Thai and international cuisine at the beachfront Sea Wrap restaurant, a cocktail bar is also available. The spa offers a range of treatments, including aromatherapy and traditional Thai massage, while the library with internet access is great for having a quiet moment to oneself.
